Rotary Tattoo Machines

stealth rotary tattoo machine

stealth rotary tattoo machine

Tattoo machines were first invented back in 1876 by Thomas Edison when he came up with the idea of the ’stencil pen’. Originally designed for engraving, it was refined by Samuel O’Riley in 1891 when he realised that it could be used to push ink into skin to create a tattoo.

These tattoo guns were based on rotary technology which can still be seen in use today. However, due to technological advancements the rotary tattoo machines of today are a far cry from those original models.

Modern rotary machines are known to produce consistent strokes and no matter how many needles you are using, it will push it into the skin.  No tuning or adjusting is needed for a rotary tattoo machine and they are known for their quietness. They are very strong, hard hitting tattoo machines.

Here at the Tattoo Shop we have a range of rotary tattoo machines in stock, all of which can be found on our website. Not only that, but be also have in stock, accessories and cases just in case you need those too. Why not check them out today.

The Importance of Good Body piercing Aftercare

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: body piercing aftercare, tattoo aftercare — tattooshp @ 1:44 pm, March 2, 2010

When we have a body piercing done it is extremely important to make sure that we look after it properly. Generally speaking, a body piercing should be cleaned around once or twice a day, throughout the initial healing period. Always use a good body piercing aftercare regime and products to help promote healing.

Always ask the person doing the piercing what they recommend when it comes to keeping it clean and how long to carry out a cleaning regime. Choose a good brand of piercing aftercare product and be careful not to overdo the cleaning process or you may find that the area becomes sore or irritated. This could result in a prolonged healing process.

Sticking to a good body piercing aftercare regime and cleaning the site on a regular basis will help to ensure that the healing process goes smoothly. In terms of aftercare products, there are several options depending on the location of the body piercing.

For oral piercings, why not try a mouth rinse that comes in fresh favours including Lemon Ice and Arctic Ocean. For other parts of the body, how about a body piercing aftercare spray. Effective for most body modifications these sprays can help to remove any dried discharge from the piercing site.

These aftercare products can be found right now at the Tattoo Shop so why not browse them in our online Tattoo Shop. The Tattoo Shop also stocks a range of tattoo aftercare products too. These are perfect in order to help aid the healing process of any tattoo.

Tattoo Grips and Tubes, What are my Choices?

Filed under: tattoo shop news — Tags: tattoo grips, tattoo tubes — tattooshp @ 4:54 pm, October 7, 2009

As every tattoo artist knows, one essential piece of equipment is the tattoo tube or grip.

Available in plastic or stainless steel, choosing which type to buy depends largely on personal preference. Each has their own merits for instance, a stainless steel grip will last for a long time if treat with care although it should be mentioned that proper sterilisation is required with stainless tubes. This can be a headache for the tattooist, which is why a large proportion of tattoo artists now prefer disposable plastic grips or tubes.

There are lots of disposable plastic tube styles to choose from and can be simply thrown away once you have finished with them. This makes the tattooists life much easier and the fact that that do not need sterilising means that they are much less likely to suffer from carbon deposits. Less carbon deposits equals brighter colours.

Top Five Tips for Choosing the Right Tattoo Design

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: choosing a tattoo, tattoo, tattoo design — tattooshp @ 10:59 am, September 10, 2009

Back in June, we talked about how tattoos are gaining acceptance in everyday life, and how important it is to choose the right design. Today, I would like to expand upon this idea a little bit and talk more about tattoo design choice.

For many, getting a tattoo is an exciting time, but it is very easy to get fixated on a specific idea or tattoo design. It is important however, not to become blinkered. Therefore, always take the time to assess whether your chosen design is something you will be able to live with for the rest of your life.

To help anyone thinking about tattoo designs, here are our top five tips on choosing a tattoo that will stand the test of time:

1.Find a design that has a personal meaning

Choosing a tattoo design that has personal significance means there will be a much greater chance of you still being happy with it twenty years from now. Be careful when choosing a tattoo that incorporates a name. If there is a chance that a breakdown in relationship may occur then it is perhaps best to avoid these kinds of tattoos.

2.Find a traditional or timeless design

When looking at tattoo designs, it may be better to consider an idea that is less likely to date. There are many traditional styles and designs that are timeless. Choosing a traditional tattoo design will help ensure that, as you grow older, your tattoo will not look out of place.

3. Don’t follow trends

Due to the growing popularity of tattoos, there has been a shift in certain aspects of tattoo culture. Currently, stars, Sanskrit, and ambigrams, are amongst some of the “cool” tattoo designs, but who knows what next year will bring? Tattoos that are “in vogue” are not necessarily bad, but I would give a lot of thought to make sure you will not tire of them when trends move on. Always choose a tattoo because it is something you really want, not because it’s in fashion.

4. Research, Research, Research

I can’t stress this one enough. The more time and energy you can put into the choosing process the better as far as I’m concerned. Even if you have a design in mind, do some extra research to see all the different ways that particular subject can be portrayed. For instance, you may have decided that you want to invest in a dragon tattoo but what kind of dragon? The fact that there are so many options available means that the research process is invaluable.

5.Talk to a tattooist

Spend some time discussing your ideas with the tattoo artist that is going to carry out the work on your body. It is becoming more normal these days for artists to provide bespoke or customised designs whereas in the past, people would have been more likely to choose a stock design.

Although these tips may all seem like common sense, bearing them in mind may save you from wanting to undergo laser removal treatment or tattoo cover up at a later date. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out our design gallery, and featured artists sections for tattoo design inspiration. Finally, for those of you that already have tattoos, why not send us pictures of your tattoo designs.
